Katie Fitzwilson, LAC mental health therapist (she/her)
Katie is a Licensed Associate Counselor who functions from the core values of: collaboration, care, consent and curiosity. Katie completed her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from JBU.Katie has experience working with individuals of various backgrounds and identities. In session, she seeks to create a non-judgmental therapeutic space that allows each of her clients to feel safe to communicate openly and bring their authentic self into the process. Katie utilizes body awareness tools in order to connect clients to their holistic physiological-emotional connection. She enjoys working with any person at any stage of life, but is especially passionate about working with trauma, neurodiversity, disordered eating, and the LGBTQIA+ community.Katie uses an integrative approach based on her client’s needs with an emphasis on client-focused, culturally-competent and trauma-informed techniques. She is EMDR-trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a strategy for addressing trauma proven to reduce distress. Katie has received additional training in the treatment of eating disorders from a Health at Every Size approach, and is working towards certification.
Katie loves to cook, spend time with friends and family, participate in community advocacy/activism projects and snuggle with her three precious cats.
