Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Exercise
By Jenni Kay Long, RYT, LCSW, ADS
Allowing ourselves to truly feel and explore our experience of anxiety can help us understand where it comes from and what to do with it. The activity below is an opportunity to learn about any anxious thought patterns you may be experiencing, confront cognitive distortions, and learn how to engage with yourself more compassionately. It is a journaling exercise based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is used when a situation arises that leads to feelings of overwhelm, worry, or rumination.
