Abbey wood, mental health therapy intern

I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri but have been living in Arkansas since 2017. I am currently a clinical mental health student at the University of Arkansas, having earned my Bachelor's degree from Missouri State University.

I am passionate about fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can feel comfortable to be their authentic selves. I believe that each person possesses the inner awareness necessary for growth and change, and I prioritize creating a non-judgmental space that promotes open communication. My approach to counseling is person-centered, and I am also interested in attachment theory and internal family systems. In practice, this means we might explore how your unique character traits and attachment styles influence your relationships and sense of connection with the world.

I am committed to working with clients from all backgrounds, with a special focus on LGBTQIA+ individuals, those dealing with religious trauma, and college students. Outside of counseling, I enjoy camping, hiking, rock climbing, playing (and watching) soccer, and spending time with my partner and our three dogs.
