Health Coaching

Health Coaching is similar to other types of coaching except that it deals with issues for and about your body and your overall health. Your Health Coach will apply her extensive knowledge and skills to help you mobilize your internal strengths and external resources to bring about sustainable change that improves your health outcome.

Your Health Coach can help you to:

  • Identify why you are overeating or continuing other unhealthy patterns

  • Set realistic and attainable goals that creates momentum but also sustainability

  • Learn the difference between emotional and physical hunger

  • Develop healthy habits such as regular sleep, food preparation, and scheduling time to exercise

  • Learn how to stay motivated and to push through setbacks or challenges

  • Learn other healthy coping skills such as deep breathing and mindfulness

  • Learn how to change unhealthy behavior and thinking patterns

  • Learn how to identify triggers of overeating and how to prevent them in your life

  • Feel understood but also challenged to be the best you can be

Together, you and your health coach will outline the steps you’ll need to take in order to achieve your goals. You will work hand in hand with your health coach to define your personal health and wellness issues, how they intersect and affect you holistically and to help to develop strategies to overcome them—whether it’s losing weight, reducing stress, sleeping better, or lowering the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. 

Your Health Coach will offer continued support and guidance along the way and hold you accountable for achieving your goals.

About the facilitator - Stacey R. Smith, LCSW, CHC, CCATP

Stacey is a licensed therapist, a Certified Health Coach, and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. Stacey is committed to helping you identify and understand your personal obstacles, allowing you work collaboratively with her to create a map to the person you want to be. She believes that there is a strong connection between mental health and physical health and is committed to helping clients improve both in order to achieve the best quality of life possible.  Her treatment philosophy is holistic and she strives to provide all clients with a safe, warm, and non-judgmental therapeutic experience.  She believes that psychotherapy should help you gain greater insight into your thoughts, patterns and behaviors and create lasting change.
